A free Thanksgiving Day turkey dinner and concert for the needy will be offered from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Home Front Church, 808 W. Commonwealth Ave.
Rap music by Soldiers for Christ and Freedom of Soul, R&B; music by Alexandra and the Home Front Music Team and country & Western music by Mark Houston will be featured at the event, sponsored by the church and the police and fire departments.
Church officials said they are organizing the event to let the poor and homeless know that they care. “It’s just our calling to feed the poor and cloth them,” assistant pastor Dennis Evans said.
Anyone interested in donating items to give away, bringing food or volunteering to help serve is asked to call (714) 680-0401.
