REGION : Harbor-UCLA Opens Blood Donor Center
A new blood donor center has opened at Los Angeles County Harbor-UCLA Medical Center, where officials hope the larger quarters will encourage people to donate blood.
The Harbor-UCLA blood donor program provides about one-third of the blood required for the county hospital’s patients, including those at the trauma center.
The new center is on the first floor of the main building at 1000 W. Carson St., near Vermont Avenue east of Torrance. It is open Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Prospective donors may call (310) 222-2148 to make appointments and to arrange for parking.
