PASADENA : Term-Limit Petition Sent to City Clerk
Pasadena resident Nicholas T. Conway has turned in a petition containing about 14,000 signatures to qualify a ballot measure that seeks to limit City Council members to two four-year terms.
Conway, who ran unsuccessfully for City Council in 1991, turned in the petition Tuesday afternoon, City Clerk Maria Stewart said. To qualify for the ballot, 9,908 of the signatures must be valid, Stewart said.
Stewart said it is unlikely that county elections officials will be able to verify the signatures in time to get the measure on the city’s March 7 primary election ballot. Instead, if the measure qualifies, it will probably be put before voters in the city’s April 18 general election.
