Harry Noonan runs one of the oldest Christmas Tree lots in Orange County.
Since 1944, Noonan has been selling trees during the holiday season at locations around Costa Mesa. He and his son now run the business out of a lot in the 2100 block of Newport Boulevard.
When he started out, Noonan sold trees for 25 cents. Many of his customers then were farmers in the agricultural area known as Goat Hill.
Now, trees sell anywhere from $19 to $2,000, the family said.
Noonan has been forced to move his business several times as Costa Mesa’s open spaces were developed.
