MISSION VIEJO : Task Force to Review the Public Comments About Tennis Centers

Share

City officials have called a special meeting for Wednesday to get public comment on how to operate the Marguerite and Felipe tennis centers.

A tennis task force and city staff will review the results of a recent questionnaire and seek comment on running the 13 lighted tennis courts. The meeting will be at 6:30 p.m. at the Montanoso Recreation Center, 25800 Montanoso Drive.

“We want to provide an opportunity for members of the public who are interested in tennis to comment on what to do with the centers,” said Kelly Doyle, director of the city recreation department. “We’re inviting them as users to formulate some ideas and share them with us.”

The questionnaire was sent to about 2,500 users of the tennis courts and the four city recreation centers. City staff is tabulating the results and will announce them at the Wednesday meeting.

In a related development, the city has received four proposals from firms that want to run the two tennis centers.

The firm selected would contract with the city to operate the tennis centers, similar to the deal that currently allows Sports Leisure Group to run the city recreation centers. Sports Leisure Group is one of the four companies that submitted proposals.
