Countywide : L.A. Supervisor Molina to Speak on Politics
Los Angeles County Supervisor Gloria Molina will be in Orange County on Dec. 10 to speak about Latinas in politics and to tell how she became the first Latina to be elected to her job.
Molina, who was also the first Latina elected to the Los Angeles City Council in 1987, will be at Western Medical Center-Santa Ana as the featured speaker at a local Mexican American Women’s National Assn. (MANA) breakfast meeting. She was the first Latina elected to the 56th Assembly District in 1982.
“She’s a high-powered Latina woman and we want to give her some kind of recognition for her accomplishments,” said Armida Partida Brashears, MANA board member.
The public is invited to attend the 9:30 a.m. event. The hospital is at 1001 N. Tustin Ave.
