Genentech Should Drop Suits, Judge Says: The South San Francisco-based biotechnology firm, which is suing two companies for patent infringement, said it will appeal to the U.S. International Trade Commission. An administrative law judge who advises the commission saw evidence that Novo-Nordisk and Bio-Technology General Corp. improperly used Genentech’s process for a recombinant human growth hormone but said Genentech should drop its suits because it did not promptly turn over documents.
