Single-Family Home Sales Rise in State: Sales of detached homes were up for the third straight month, a sign that the battered market is recovering despite rising interest rates, the California Assn. of Realtors said. On a seasonally adjusted basis, the number of single-family detached homes that closed escrow during October was up 1.3% over September and 1% above October, 1993, the association said. At the same time, the median price of such homes was $180,100, down 0.7% from September and 2.4% below prices in October, 1993.
