ROSEMEAD : 2-Year-Old Boy Dies After Fall Into Washing Machine

A 2-year-old Rosemead boy who apparently fell into a washing machine that was running in the kitchen died Sunday night, sheriff’s officials said.

Robert Moreno died at Garfield Medical Center in Monterey Park at 11:43 p.m., less than two hours after he was discovered in the washing machine by his grandmother, Sgt. Noel Lanier said, adding that the boy apparently had fallen into the machine 10 minutes earlier.

When deputies arrived at the home in the 8600 block of Ramona Boulevard just after 10 p.m., they found the father, Robert Moreno, administering CPR, Lanier said. Robert Moreno and his wife, Georgina, were both at home. Detectives believe the death was accidental but the investigation will continue pending a coroner’s investigation.
