Metallica Settles Suit: The Grammy-winning hard rock band settled its three-month-old lawsuit against Time Warner’s Elektra Entertainment after renegotiating a lucrative pact that will keep Metallica at the label well into the future. Filed in September, the litigation followed a corporate shake-up orchestrated by Warner Music Group Chairman Robert Morgado, which in August led to the resignation of Robert Krasnow as Elektra chief. At the time, Metallica blamed its suit on Morgado. Drummer Lars Ulrich said Morgado reneged on Krasnow’s promise to restructure the band’s deal. The dispute was resolved with the aid of Doug Morris, the newly appointed chairman and CEO of Warner Music U.S.
