Two bodies found in widely separated desert areas were identified Wednesday as those of a missing Lancaster couple, authorities said.

The body of Carlos Guevara, 26, was found alongside 50th Street East near Palmdale Boulevard on Nov. 30 by patrolling sheriff’s deputies, Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Deputy Rich Erickson said.

The body of his wife, Delia Guevara, 26, was found the same day in the desert community of Yermo in San Bernardino County by someone walking a dog along Interstate 15, Erickson said.

Investigators said Carlos Guevara was shot several times, dumped in the Antelope Valley and set on fire. Authorities would not say how Delia Guevara was killed.

The Guevaras were reported missing Saturday by a friend who became concerned when neither of them showed up for work. The couple was last seen Nov. 29, Erickson said.

Delia worked as an assistant manager at a Palmdale fast-food restaurant and her husband worked at the Best Buy store near the Antelope Valley Mall, authorities said.

A murder investigation began when deputies--acting on the missing person reports--found a bullet lodged in a wall of the Guevaras’ home in the 42000 block of Alep Street, Erickson said.

The couple’s maroon 1994 Pontiac Grand Am is still missing, Erickson said.
