AST Research Appoints VP to Head Texas Manufacturing

Gary D. Weaver has been appointed vice president of Texas manufacturing for Irvine-based AST Research Inc. Weaver will oversee all manufacturing operations in AST’s Fort Worth, Texas, facility, which produces desktop and server computers. Before joining the company, he was vice president of operations for Ioptex Research Inc. in Irwindale. He has also been senior vice president of operations for Irwin Magnetics Systems Inc., vice president of operations for Cipher Data Products, which acquired Irwin in 1989, and managing director for Atari Far East.
* Robert J. Bard has been appointed vice president for regulatory and legal affairs at I-Flow Corp., an Irvine manufacturer of medical devices. Bard joined the company in 1988 as manager of regulatory affairs, quality assurance and quality control and was promoted to director in 1990.
* Jim Janusz has been appointed worldwide director of customer support for Platinum Software Corp., an Irvine financial software company. Before joining Platinum, Janusz was director of technical systems support at Symbol Technologies Inc.
