SAN CLEMENTE : Photo Opportunity With Surfin’ Santa
- Share via
There are a multitude of photo opportunities with St. Nick, but where other than San Clemente can Surfin’ Santa be found?
In a city that is one of Southern California’s surfing hot spots, people can have their picture taken with Santa and a surfboard against a rolling ocean background today from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
“We have a jolly and slightly rotund teacher who has enthusiastically volunteered to be Santa,” said Christopher Cairns, principal of San Clemente High. “He’s dressed as Santa with sunglasses and a surfboard.”
Santa will be at a Lucky’s grocery store, 804 Avenida Pico.
The cost is $2.50 and proceeds will benefit the San Clemente High School pep squad.
Surfin’ Santa has visited the San Clemente High School campus this week, taking photos with students.
Cairns said response from the student body has been enthusiastic.
The surfing theme makes sense, he said, because “we live in Southern California and San Clemente High School is a perennial powerhouse in surfing. And it’s fun.”
