UCSB Extension Offers Management Seminars

UC Santa Barbara’s Ventura Center will offer two seminars that are part of UCSB Extension’s program in supervisory / management development during the winter quarter.

One of the courses, Understanding and Improving Communications, reviews the basic elements of the communication process and develops skills for communicating effectively in organizational environments. The instructor is David R. Seibold, a UCSB professor of communications. The one-day class meets from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Feb. 7.

The other Ventura seminar is Managing Creativity, designed to help participants free their imagination and apply the tools of creativity to any opportunity or challenge. The instructor, Edward H. Rockey, is a management consultant and trainer in Newbury Park. The class meets from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. March 17.

A certificate of completion will be issued to those who satisfactorily complete six or more seminars in the series.

UCSB Extension is also offering a marketing sequence in the Santa Barbara area this winter. The sequence is being offered in cooperation with the Ventura, Conejo Valley and Santa Barbara chambers of commerce, along with the Santa Barbara Ad Club.
