San Bernardino County authorities Tuesday identified a man who died in a plane crash near Big Bear City as Dean Henry, 29, of Burbank.
Henry was the pilot of a single-engine 1947 North American Navion-A that crashed Monday into a hillside half a mile east of Big Bear Airport, according to the San Bernadino County coroner’s office.
One passenger, who has not been identified, was also killed in the crash, while another passenger survived, but is hospitalized with serious injuries, a coroner’s spokesman said.
The aircraft went down just after takeoff about 2 p.m., authorities said.
Cause of the crash has not been determined.
