BY DESIGN : Don’t Be a Stuffed Shirt

Share

Here’s an alternative to the stuffy traditional pleated white tuxedo shirt for the adventurous, stylish man of the ‘90s.

Inspired by the textiles from all over the world, New York designers Pinky Wolman and Thomas Oatman have created the cross-cultural tuxedo shirt. The one pictured is made of Swiss cotton with a tile batik bib from the Dutch East Indies. It sells from $220 at Maxfield in West Hollywood.

The designers also use Swiss cotton piques in unexpected formal co9lors, such as navy, and cotton ikats from Southeast Asia.
