SANTA ANA : Volunteers Needed for Holiday Dinner

Share

A Christmas Eve dinner for needy children and their families is being organized by the Santa Ana Unified School District and the Delhi Community Center. Volunteers and donations are needed for this fourth annual event.

“At least 2,000 Santa Ana Unified School District students are homeless,” said Don Champlin, the district’s interim superintendent. “These children have no holiday tree, presents or warm meal. We’re trying to make the holiday season a little better for them.”

A turkey dinner will be served from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at Festival Hall, 220 E. 3rd St. in Santa Ana. Children will receive presents from Toys for Tots. Toy donations may be dropped off at the elementary division of the school district office, 1405 French St. in Santa Ana.
