Farmers Insurance Group to Restructure: The Los Angeles-based company will revamp its core businesses to create separate operations for its commercial, life and personal lines of insurance. The changes, announced by the unit of BAT Industries Ltd., take effect in January. No financial details were disclosed. Farmers Insurance is the nation’s third-largest automobile and home insurer and also provides life and business insurance. The company said it also plans to restructure its marketing department and move all corporate communications operations to its Los Angeles headquarters.
