OXNARD : High School District Official to Retire
The Oxnard Union High School District’s assistant superintendent for business--one of three top administrators in the sprawling district--has announced his retirement.
Bob Brown, 60, will officially step down Friday from his job overseeing finances, building maintenance and bus transportation for the 12,500-student district.
Along with Supt. Bill Studt and Gary Davis, assistant superintendent for educational services, Brown is among the district’s leading staff members. His annual salary is $78,927.
Brown’s deputy, Assistant Business Manager Richard Canady, will take over the top job in business services for at least the rest of this school year, Studt said.
Brown, who is on vacation, could not be reached for comment.
But Studt said Brown decided earlier this year to retire after he turned 60, which qualifies him for his pension.
“He’s old enough,” Studt said. “He put in his years.”
Prior to becoming the Oxnard district’s assistant superintendent seven years ago, Brown worked 13 years in business services for school districts in Monterey, Santa Barbara and Tulare counties.
