L.A. Auto Show: The 1995 public exhibition at the Los Angeles Convention Center includes more than 1,000 vehicles, including two dozen world or continental debuts of 1995 and 1996 model cars, pickups and sport utility vehicles. Concept cars--futuristic designs that rarely make it into mass production--range from Detroit muscle cars to a four-door hatchback electric sedan created by famed Italian designer Sergio Pininfarina, who has designed Ferraris and Alpha Romeos for decades, and built by Colorado-based Unique Mobility Inc. Also on display: new gadgets for cars, trucks and motorcycles. And for a tactile thrill, there’s a five-minute video-enhanced ride billed as a simulation of the experience of driving Mario Andretti’s Indianapolis 500 race car. The show continues through Sunday.
