VENTURA : Survey Polls Support for ‘Basics’ School

Share

Ventura parents of elementary school-age children who have not received a survey on the Ventura Unified School District’s planned back-to-basics school should call the district for a copy of the questionnaire, school officials said.

The district is surveying all parents whose children will be in kindergarten or grades 1 through 5 next school year.

Although the district has sent copies of the questionnaire home with students, some may have lost the papers or failed to give them to their parents, Assistant Supt. Gerald Dannenberg said.

The surveys, which should be returned to the district by Jan. 20, are intended to gauge support among parents for a planned magnet school that would require parents to volunteer a certain number of hours per week and students to wear uniforms.

For a copy of the survey, call Dannenberg’s office at 652-7287 or the district at 641-5000.
