CYPRESS : Mayor Breaks Ankle in Fall During Rain
Mayor Cecilia L. Age is among the accident victims from the recent rains.
Age broken her left ankle after slipping and falling in the rain Saturday night on the driveway of her home. The injury caused her to miss Monday’s City Council meeting.
“I was bringing groceries into my house from my car,” said Age. “I slipped and fell.”
Ironically, Age only hours before had been touring the city, making an inspection of rain damage. She had issued a declaration of a city emergency--a step that enables rain-damage victims to apply for state and federal assistance.
Age said a cast has been placed on the ankle and she has not been able to move around.
