Westcorp: The Irvine financial services holding company, whose principal subsidiary is Western Financial Savings Bank, reported a profit of $18.8 million, or 81 cents a share, for 1994. That compared to earnings of $12.9 million, or 62 cents a share, for the previous year, which included an extraordinary loss of $1.1 million from the redemption of subordinated debt. Fourth-quarter profit was up 66%, to $5.8 million, or 25 cents a share, from $3.5 million, or 15 cents a share. Total assets as of Dec. 31 were $2.7 billion, up 23% from $2.2 billion on the same date a year earlier.
