MOORPARK : Volunteers Sought to Help Tow Radar Trailer
Sheriff’s deputies in Moorpark are looking for citizen volunteers to help tow a radar trailer that displays the speed of passing cars.
The recently obtained radar trailer, similar to two that debuted last month in Thousand Oaks, confronts drivers with their speed in foot-high yellow numbers. Deputies said they hope the trailer will promote traffic safety and compliance with the speed limit.
The city of Moorpark will provide a truck to tow the trailer, but deputies are seeking drivers with towing experience and free time in the morning or evening.
The job involves towing the trailer to the roadside site where it will be parked for the day.
Deputies said the driving job provides an “opportunity to contribute toward the safety of the community.”
