Six gray wolves were to be released into Yellowstone National Park and another 11 into central Idaho about dawn today, officials said.

The wolves, trapped in Alberta, Canada, were transported to the United States on Thursday.

They join 12 others introduced into the two locations last week and are the last to be trapped this year, a spokeswoman for the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service said.

Park officials said the eight wolves released into Yellowstone pens last week were doing well.
