CLAREMONT: A fuel tanker was used to steal 8,500 gallons of gasoline from a gas station last weekend. The theft occurred between 10 p.m. Saturday and 6 a.m. Sunday at the Chevron gas station in the 800 block of West Foothill Boulevard, police said.

POMONA: A 20-year-old Ontario man was arrested Monday afternoon after he allegedly ran from the scene of a car accident that killed one passenger and injured another. Charles Bragg was being held at the jail ward of Los Angeles County-USC Medical Center after his arrest on suspicion of vehicular manslaughter, felony hit-and-run and driving with a suspended license. The 3:15 p.m. accident occurred on Garey Avenue, south of Olive Avenue. Police said Bragg was speeding in the rain when he lost control of his 1980 Buick Regal and hit a three-foot-wide palm tree. A 15-year-old Walnut boy, whose name was not released, died at the scene. Herbert Coleman, 20, of Ontario was at Kaiser Permanente Medical Center in Harbor City; authorities would not release information on his condition.

POMONA: Two men were arrested on drug charges Friday night in a San Dimas mobile home. Eric Joseph Dickenson, 27, of Glendora, allegedly had eluded police who had uncovered a methamphetamine-making operation in Pomona on Dec. 31. Arrested with Dickenson on Friday was the owner of the mobile home, Edward Pate Ferry, 47, after police allegedly found the makings of another methamphetamine lab there. Both men were booked on suspicion of manufacturing methamphetamine and were being held at Pomona City Jail.
