Metalclad Corp.: The Newport Beach company lost $2.1 million, or 15 cents a share, for its second fiscal quarter, which ended Nov. 30. That compared to a loss of $1.9 million, or 23 cents a share, for the same period a year earlier. Revenue increased 18%, to $5.3 million from $4.5 million. For the first half, the company lost $4 million, or 31 cents a share, compared to a loss of $3.3 million, or 41 cents a share, for the same period a year earlier. Six-month revenue rose 25%, to $9.6 million from $7.7 million. The company attributed the losses to the continued development of its Mexican business.
