COLLEGE BASKETBALL ROUNDUP : Concordia Overtakes Cal Baptist

Concordia erased a 10-point halftime deficit and went on to win, 86-79, Saturday at Cal Baptist College.
Trailing, 47-37, at the break, the Eagles held Cal Baptist to 37% shooting from the field (13/35) in the second half to take control.
Jeff Putnam led Concordia with 22 points on eight of nine shooting from the field and added 10 rebounds. Pharoah Jones (21 points, six rebounds) and Craig Martin (18 points, eight rebounds) also contributed to the second-half surge.
Cal Baptist’s Ahman Dolphin was hot from the field, making 10 of 13 shots, including five for five three-pointers, and ended with 25 points.

Point Loma Nazarene 82, Southern California College 58--Beau Pack had 24 points and 12 rebounds for visiting Point Loma Nazarene. Mark Weitala scored 13 points for Southern California College.
In Golden State Athletic Conference women’s basketball:
Concordia 74, Cal Baptist College 45--Milissa Ridge scored 21 points and Audre Moss had 18 for visiting Concordia. Joy Clarke had 13 for Cal Baptist College.
Southern California College 73, Point Loma Nazarene 55--Heather Woodruff had 19 points and 13 rebounds and Tina Southard had 17 points for Southern California College (14-9, 5-2), which moved into second place in conference.
Southard added 17 points and freshman Elaine Whittemore contributed 14 for the Vanguards.
Annie Beddoes led Nazarene (9-15, 1-6) with 12 points.
