Slaying Victim, Suspect Identified in Stanton Case

Police have identified the 23-year-old man killed in a suspected love triangle over the weekend and the suspect.

Jorge A. Acosta-Lopez was shot once in the chest Saturday following an argument and fistfight on a balcony at his girlfriend’s apartment in the 11400 block of Court Street, Sheriff’s Lt. Tom Garner said.

The suspect, Emilio de Jesus Salguero Hernandez, 27, had come to his ex-girlfriend’s apartment to visit his child, Garner said.

But during the fight, he pulled a pistol from his waistband and fired three times at Acosta-Lopez at close range, Garner said, and then fled in a 1982 maroon Volkswagen station wagon.

Hernandez is described as 5-foot-5, 150 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. The Volkswagen license plate is 2AUA429.
