Teen-Ager Wounds Self With Shot to Head
A teen-ager who accidentally shot himself in the head remained in stable condition Wednesday.
The teen-ager, who was not identified because of his age, told police he found the gun in a closet Tuesday, “looked down the barrel and pulled the trigger for some reason,” said Orange County Sheriff’s Lt. Tom Garner. “I don’t know why anyone would pull the trigger of a revolver without seeing if it was loaded.”
Despite some bullet fragments in his brain, the boy was able to tell police how the shooting occurred. Five young people had gathered in an apartment in the 10000 block of Fern Avenue and were drinking beer.
