Florida State Coach Pat Kennedy has sought someone all season to help star Bob Sura at crunch time.

Sophomore James Collins answered the call Wednesday night with a driving jumper on the base line with 22 seconds left to give the Seminoles, 11-8 and 4-6 in the Atlantic Coast Conference, a 69-67 victory over No. 11 Wake Forest (14-5, 5-4) at Tallahassee, Fla.

Sura finished with 19 points and is one point shy of 2,000.

No. 5 Kentucky 68, Tennessee 48--Tony Delk scored 19 points, becoming the 42nd player in Kentucky history to get 1,000 in a career, as the Wildcats (16-3, 9-1) overpowered the Volunteers (8-11, 2-8) in a Southeastern Conference game at Knoxville, Tenn.

No. 10 Syracuse 100, Providence 76--Lawrence Moten matched his career-high with 32 points as the Orangemen (17-3, 10-1) routed the Friars (12-7, 4-7) in a Big East game at Syracuse, N.Y.

No. 13 Missouri 59, No. 19 Iowa State 56--Freshman Kendrick Moore made two free throws with 11 seconds to play as the Tigers (17-3, 6-2) rallied from a 12-point deficit to hand the Cyclones (17-6, 3-5) their fourth loss in a row in a Big Ten game at Columbia, Mo.

No. 17 Virginia 65, North Carolina State 55--Jason Williford (13 points) powered a second-half run that sent the Cavaliers (14-6, 7-3) to victory over the Wolfpack (10-10, 2-8) despite an injury to floor leader Cory Alexander in an ACC game at Charlottesville, Va.

Alexander, who announced that he will forgo his final year to turn pro, was scheduled to undergo an MRI today to determine if his right ankle is broken.

Boston College 78, No. 20 Georgetown 67--Danya Abrams scored 21 of his 29 points in the second half as the Eagles (8-11, 2-9) upset the Hoyas (14-6, 7-5) in a Big East game at Newton, Mass.

No. 21 Mississippi State 67, Louisiana State 61--Darryl Wilson scored 22 points and the Bulldogs (15-4, 7-2) held off the Tigers (11-8, 5-4) in an SEC game at Baton Rouge, La.

Forward Bryant Feggins was suspended indefinitely from the North Carolina State team for violating team and athletic department policy, Coach Les Robinson said. . . . Washington guard Michael McClain was suspended for two games after his arrest on fourth-degree assault charges over a scuffle with a girlfriend.
