STYLE: FASHION : Hawaiian Punch

Not since Don Ho first crooned “Tiny Bubbles” has Hawaii been such an inspiration. For spring, designers have taken the Hawaiian print shirt, that ubiquitous tourist favorite, and reworked it into breezy little dresses, crop tops and sarongs. Garments boast tie closures, fringe hems and glistening sequins. Even the hula dancer’s grass skirt turns up in rainbow-colored raffia. Accessories have gone tropical as well, with beaded necklaces in the shape of giant hibiscus and silk leis studded with crystals. What’s it all add up to? The next best thing to an island getaway. Aloha!
