Share

Two Santa Paula men were arrested Sunday morning on suspicion of recklessly discharging several rounds from a handgun and then concealing the weapon in an automobile, authorities said.

Phillip Mora, 35, and Frank Anaya Jr., 20, were taken into custody after a short pursuit by patrol officers responding to shots fired in the 1000 block of Orchard Street, according to Santa Paula Police Sgt. Wes Easley.

Easley said police believe that the men are responsible for firing several rounds from a .45-caliber handgun into an unoccupied car. Some of the bullets struck the wall of a nearby home on Orchard, but no injuries were reported.
