The Private Industry Council of Orange County, along with the county’s Social Services Agency and the state Employment Development Department, are holding a job fair Wednesday that will open its doors to laid-off county employees.
The fair will be at the Neighborhood Community Center in Costa Mesa from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
County organizers say they expect 50 to 70 employers to attend, in fields including computers, medical technology and clerical, a paralegal and automotive services.
Most past participants seeking work were laid off because of mergers or industry slumps and have been retrained by the federally funded Private Industry Council.
But this fair has been publicized to laid-off county workers as well, said Robert Bendel, a county re-employment counselor.
The community center is at 1845 Park Ave. For more information, call (714) 645-8551.
