Lawrence Murphy Gets Senior Walt Disney Co. Post: Murphy, one of the top corporate officers at the Burbank-based company, was named executive vice president and chief strategic officer by Chairman Michael D. Eisner. Murphy also was named chairman of Disney’s new cruise ship venture. He will continue to direct Disney’s acquisition activities, business development and long-term strategy. Separately, Bernardine Brandis was promoted to executive vice president of Disney’s motion picture group, where she will oversee business and legal affairs for the studio’s movie division. She also will be in charge of administration.
