OXNARD : Police Seek Man in Shooting in Juice Bar

Police in Oxnard are searching for a man in his early 20s who walked into a south Oxnard restaurant, pulled out a handgun and shot a 21-year-old man in the shoulder, authorities said.
The incident occurred about 10:40 p.m. Tuesday as Ismael Ruiz Ixta was sitting inside Rebecca’s Juice Bar in the 700 block of South Oxnard Boulevard.
According to witnesses, the gunman entered the business and said something to Ixta. As Ixta turned, the man fired one round from a small-caliber handgun. The bullet struck Ixta in the upper left shoulder.
Ixta was taken to St. John’s Regional Hospital, where he was listed in serious condition Wednesday, a nursing supervisor said.
The investigation is continuing.
