Paul Westerberg and Joan Jett have just recorded a duet of Cole Porter’s “Let’s Do It” that will be featured on the soundtrack to the movie “Tank Girl.” Bad Religion’s Greg Graffin had been slated to do the male part, but had to cancel at the last minute. Also new to the soundtrack project is a reunited Devo reprising its own “Girl U Want.” The film and accompanying album, both due in late March, already features tracks by Bjork, Luscious Jackson, L7, the dance-percussion ensemble Stomp and Hole, with Courtney Love serving as executive soundtrack coordinator....

The newly blond Terence Trent D’Arby has finished his fourth album, “Terence Trent D’Arby’s Vibrator.” A video for the first single is being directed by Samuel Bayer, best known for Nirvana’s “Smells Like Teen Spirit” and Blind Melon’s “No Rain.” D’Arby will start a world tour in May in Japan, followed by treks in Europe and then the U.S....

Jackson Browne will take a break from recording a new album to join Ry Cooder and David Lindley & El Rayo X in a concert March 5 at the Palace to raise money for a friend in need of a kidney transplant. Special guests will be added to the bill....

Toad the Wet Sprocket, long active in the campaign to stop violence against women, has invited the Rape, Abuse and Incest National Network (founded by singer Tori Amos) to set up tables in lobbies on its upcoming U.S. concert tour, which includes a March 3 date at the Hollywood Palladium. The group will also play at a National Organization for Women rally April 2 on the Mall in Washington, D.C.
