CRENSHAW : Performance to Honor Black History
The Institute of Musical Art is hosting an afternoon of theater, dance and music today in celebration of Black History Month.
Two actors will portray historic black figures in one-man performances: Al Eaton will perform as Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and Duane Shepard will portray Malcolm X. The Sweet Sounds of IMA will provide jazz and other musical entertainment and the Shaluza Boot Dancers will perform African-style routines. Refreshments will also be sold.
The Institute of Musical Art is at 3210 W. 54th St.. Donations for the event, from 4 to 6 p.m., are $7.50.
