Westminster School District trustees will hear presentations from six companies seeking to purchase and develop the now-closed Virginia K. Boos Elementary School.
The presentations to the Board of Trustees will be March 2 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. and 8:15 to 9:45 p.m. at district headquarters, 14121 Cedarwood Ave., district spokeswoman Audrey Brown said.
The Boos school is at 13890 Hammon Place in Huntington Beach. All six developers are proposing to build single-family homes at the 10-acre site, she said.
One of the oldest schools in the district, Boos was closed last year because of changing enrollment patterns. Long-term demographic studies show that the district’s enrollment has leveled off and the school will not be needed. Neighboring campuses will easily be able to handle local children, including those expected to move into new homes, Brown said.
All proceeds from the sale will be added to the district’s facilities fund, which pays for capital improvements districtwide.
