Disaster Preparedness Class Open to Families
The Red Cross is offering preparedness courses to educate families about natural disasters, a spokeswoman said.
The two-hour course is designed to teach how to cope with major disasters such as earthquakes, wildfires and floods. The class, which costs $5 per family, will be at the Red Cross Center, 600 N. Parkcenter Drive, spokeswoman Judy Iannaccone said.
The courses will be at 7 p.m. March 30. Participants will receive a disaster preparedness book and learn how to create disaster response plans, create emergency supplies checklists and help children deal with disasters, she said.
