BRIEFLY : Running: Women Sought for Marathon
A local club for women is seeking volunteers to compete in the L.A. Marathon.
The Women in Transition Club at Santa Monica College, a club for returning women students, will award prizes to women who collect the most sponsors for the March 5 marathon. The grand prize is a weekend for two at resorts in either Palm Springs or Ojai.
Entrants representing the club are not expected to run the entire marathon; shuttles will be available for competitors.
