The alley-oop play that helped break the Washington Bullets’ six-game losing streak was a product of their Michigan connection.

Juwan Howard hit former Fab Five teammate Chris Webber with a lob pass that Webber dunked with 9.6 seconds left Saturday night, breaking a 98-98 tie and sending Washington over Sacramento, 102-98, at Landover, Md.

“The way Chris and I know each other and play together makes it tough on the opponents,” Howard said. “I know where he is on the floor and he knows where I am.”

Webber finished with 25 points and Howard added 18.

Sacramento, which has lost a season-high four consecutive games, tied the score, 98-98, with 27.3 seconds left on a three-point basket by Mitch Richmond, who had 32 points.

But after Webber’s dunk, Richmond fouled Scott Skiles as the Kings moved upcourt, and Skiles made a pair of free throws with 3.8 seconds remaining for the Bullets’ final points.

Olden Polynice had 17 points for the Kings, who have lost the first three games of a five-game trip.

Houston 112, Golden State 105--Hakeem Olajuwon had 38 points and 15 rebounds, and Sam Cassell added a career-high 16 assists as the Rockets beat the Warriors at Houston.

Cassell, who finished with 13 points, keyed Houston’s fourth quarter, scoring 10 points--including three three-pointers--as the Rockets held off the Warriors.

Latrell Sprewell had 30 points and Tim Hardaway 24 for Golden State.

Cleveland 105, New Jersey 102--Danny Ferry scored a career-high 24 points and made a three-point shot with 13 seconds left to put the Cavaliers ahead to stay at Cleveland in their fifth victory in six games.

Ferry then made a key defensive play at the other end, blocking Kenny Anderson’s drive to the basket. Cleveland did the rest of its scoring a the foul line in completing a four-game season sweep of the Nets.

Chris Morris scored a season-high 31 for New Jersey.
