Beginning Wednesday, a new promotion called “Time to Coast”--featuring room rates starting at $69 per night, a pair of tickets to the Monterey Bay Aquarium (usually $23.50 for two), and discount certificates good at businesses, restaurants and attractions on Cannery Row, Fisherman’s Wharf, Del Monte Center and downtown--is being offered in Monterey. The program runs through Dec. 31 and there are no blackout dates. So far, about 30 lodgings, including the Monterey Bay Inn, Hyatt Regency, Victorian Inn, Doubletree Inn and the Marriott Monterey, are participating. About 80% of the participating properties have accommodations under $100 per room per night. Rates, which are based on availability, do not include taxes.
