Wherehouse Entertainment Appoints New CEO: The Torrance-based company named Jerry E. Goldress, its president and chief operating officer, to the added posts of chairman and chief executive. He was also named a director. Wherehouse Entertainment Inc. said Goldress replaces Scott Young, who resigned as chairman and CEO and as a director. Young and the board had a “difference of opinion” with “respect to the future direction and operating strategy for the company,” a company statement said.
