ALHAMBRA: A 24-year-old San Bernardino man was arrested Saturday in connection with a carjacking at Atlantic and Valley boulevards. Johnny Pando was arrested about 1:45 a.m. after he allegedly stole a 1982 Datsun 200SX from a 22-year-old Alhambra man. Police said Pando pretended to have a weapon but was not armed.

ALTADENA: A 28-year-old Altadena man was the victim of a carjacking Sunday night. The man, whose name was not released, was threatened at knifepoint in the 2100 block of North Lincoln Avenue and told to turn over his 1984 blue Nissan Sentra, deputies said.

COVINA: A 34-year-old Covina man was shot Thursday night when a man knocked on his front door and then fired through his screen and sliding door. Lance Glock was struck in the chest but is expected to recover, police said. No motive is known, police said.

MONROVIA: Two men were wounded Friday by at least two suspects who drove up to them and, after a brief discussion, fired at them with a handgun, police said. Lee Morgan, 25, of El Monte, and his brother Jenarow C. Morgan, 24, also of El Monte, were wounded as they stood with a friend in the 100 block of Montana Street about 7 p.m., police said. Lee Morgan, who was struck in the upper leg, was treated at a local hospital and released. Jenarow Morgan was hit in the torso and remained hospitalized, police said.

MONROVIA: A 19-year-old West Covina man was shot by two sheriff’s deputies Monday after he allegedly pointed a gun at them. Marcus Hurd was shot about 1 a.m. in the 2000 block of Flagstone Avenue in an unincorporated area near Monrovia. Hurd was airlifted to a local hospital where he was listed in serious condition, Sheriff’s Spokeswoman Britta Tubbs said. Deputies were patrolling the area when they saw Hurd standing in front of a house, Tubbs said. With the car’s spotlight on him, Hurd allegedly reached into his pocket and pulled out a small handgun, pointing it at the deputies.

PASADENA: A 38-year-old Pasadena woman was stabbed to death Monday morning. The body of Rhonda Lane was found at the intersection of Hill Avenue and Washington Boulevard at about 12:50 a.m., police said. Lane had been stabbed numerous times in the upper torso in a parking lot in the 1400 block of East Washington Boulevard and apparently fled from her assailant before collapsing in the intersection.

POMONA: A Pomona woman was raped Saturday by a man who then fled her apartment by jumping through a closed second-story window. The woman was raped at about 5:15 a.m. in her apartment in the 900 block of Hansen Avenue.
