Share

The Oak Park Municipal Advisory Council has an abundance of applicants for its two vacancies.

Twelve candidates have applied for the seats vacated in January by Ron Stark and J. Paul Fredericks. Stark quit after taking a job with recently elected Ventura County Supervisor Frank Schillo and Fredericks moved out of the area.

The three remaining council members are scheduled to interview the candidates individually Tuesday and forward a short list of five finalists to Schillo.

The supervisor will then fill the two vacancies, which he said he hopes to do before the council’s March 28 meeting. Nine of the candidates appeared at Tuesday’s council meeting and each gave a brief speech. Familiar Oak Park issues such as the need for a ZIP code and library were discussed.

The 12 candidates are: Barbara Bronson-Gray, William Dingledy, Lyle Greenberg, Todd Haines, Douglas Hewitson, Carl Jarecky, Karen Littenberg, Diane Milavetz, Chuck Monico, Argyle Nelson, Philip Panitz and Bernard Schiffer.
