San Jose 4, Toronto 3--Ulf Dahlen scored with 4:33 to play to give the Sharks a victory at Toronto.

Dahlen’s goal, his fifth of the season, broke a 3-3 tie established in the first minute of the third period by Toronto’s Randy Wood.

Florida 2, Philadelphia 2--Eric Lindros’ goal early in the third period spoiled a superb effort by Florida goaltender John Vanbiesbrouck and lifted the Flyers to a tie at Philadelphia.

Vanbiesbrouck made 35 saves.

Detroit 6, Winnipeg 1--Ray Sheppard scored twice and Paul Coffey had three assists to lead the Red Wings at Detroit.

The victory was the Red Wings’ sixth in seven games. The Jets lost their third in a row. Detroit’s 27 points in 19 games matches the best start in club history.

Buffalo 6, Pittsburgh 3--Wayne Presley scored two goals, and the Sabres killed seven minutes of penalties in the third period to win at Buffalo.
