A man suspected of using his car to run down a bicyclist, fatally injuring the 37-year-old Westminster man, has been arrested on suspicion of murder.

Michael David Miller, 28, also of Westminster, was also arrested Thursday night on suspicion of possessing a controlled substance for sale. Police said they found methamphetamines in his possession at the time of the arrest. Miller was being held Friday on $250,000 bail at the Orange County Jail.

The cyclist, Melvin Brown, died Monday of the head injuries he sustained when he hit the car’s windshield, police said.

Police said Miller and Brown had an argument Sunday on Wyoming Street, and that Brown rode away on his bicycle. Police said witnesses told them that Miller followed in his 1980 Dodge and drove into Brown in the 7300 block of Wyoming Street, knocking him onto the hood and windshield. Police found the Dodge abandoned several blocks away.
