A 3-year-old boy died Sunday of injuries suffered when he was struck by an oncoming car after darting into the street from behind a parked ice cream truck, police said.

The child, Gino Lusca of Anaheim, was hit by a car about 3 p.m. Saturday in the 600 block of Rosslynn Avenue, Fullerton Police Lt. Mike Stedman said.

The vehicle was westbound on Rosslynn, a residential street, at a speed of about 30 m.p.h., Stedman said. The child stepped from behind the ice cream truck and “darted across the street in front of the car,” he said.
