GARDEN GROVE : Police Department Sports New Badge

The Police Department has adopted a new badge that depicts the city’s history and is easily distinguishable from the badges worn by other law enforcement officials and security guards.

The badge, designed by the department’s uniform and equipment committee after nearly two years of work, is silver and gold with an outline of the historic Garden Grove City Hall building.

Instead of the traditional state seal, the badge has a new seal with four embedded symbols. On the upper left is a representation of the city’s original logo, and on the upper right is a star, representing the department’s first badge. On the lower left is a replica of the most recent badge, and the city’s contemporary logo is etched on the lower right.
